Riyadh – Mubasher: Leading e-payment services provider OneCard intends to scale up business into more countries, as it is working to develop the products and system in line with Saudi 2030 Vision.

In an exclusive interview with Mubasher on the sidelines of the Seamless Saudi Arabia 2023 conference, Ahmed Fahmy, CEO of OneCard, stated that the company is currently operating in 22 countries and three regional offices in Riyadh, Dubai, and Cairo.

OneCard launched its business in Riyadh in 2004 when prepaid cards were paper-based and caused issues for some partners. Later on, the company developed a system for issuing prepaid cards electronically.

Fahmy indicated that they began issuing OneCard and deployed electronic linking with partners, such as card issuers, companies, banks, electronic wallets, fintechs, and small point of sale (POS).

Meanwhile, Mohamed Medhat, Head of Partnerships and Acquisition at OneCard in Riyadh, told Mubasher that the company is focusing on the digital games industry.

Medhat said OneCard assisted Saudi studios and game developers in issuing digital cards to develop and publish their games in the region and worldwide through the company's distributed network.

He also noted that they are working to facilitate the entry of international gaming companies into the Saudi market through cooperation and strategic partnerships that spanned 19 years.

OneCard backed the Saudi fintech and digital wallets to transform into a super app by providing all the various digital cards for games and their diverse shopping needs.

The official mentioned that this aligns with the company’s strategy to reinforce the banking sector and boost digital transformation.

During the activities of Seamless, OneCard inked a partnership agreement with end-to-end digital platform YOÜGotaGift to enlarge cooperation across the Kingdom and the Gulf area.

OneCard also teamed up with Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) to foster digital payment solutions and Alinma Bank to enhance its digital card store.

It is worth highlighting that MENA’s leading platform Mubasher Media acted as a media partner for the Seamless conference, while Checkout.com participated in the two-day event as a first-time exhibitor for the two-day event.
