Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will suspend their operations on Thursday, 28 September 2023, in celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birthday (Mawlid El-Nabawi).

Trading and work at the EGX and banks operating in the Arab Republic will resume on Sunday, 1 October, according to an official statement.

Last week, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced Mawlid El-Nabawi as a paid holiday for all employees at the public and private sectors.

It is worth highlighting that Muslims celebrate Mawlid El-Nabawi, which is commemorated in Rabi' El-Awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.
