Beltone partners with CRIF to foster digital banking services in MENA

Cairo – Mubasher: Beltone Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of Beltone Financial Holding, signed a framework agreement with CRIF to enhance the digital banking services in Egypt as well as the MENA region.

The two entities will cooperate on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores, credit rating, data science, and analytics, according to a bourse disclosure.

Carlo Gherardi, Chairman and CEO of CRIF, commented: “This is an important step for us in consolidating CRIF’s presence in the market, which will benefit from our global expertise in consumer finance and business information.”

The CEO of Beltone, Ibrahim Safwat, said: “Beltone Capital’s investment platforms rely on data-driven fundamentals and modern financial technologies. This partnership with CRIF is another step towards solidifying our plans in making sound investment decisions across various industries”.

In the first half (H1) of 2023, Belton reported net losses after tax valued at EGP 145.89 million, an annual surge from EGP 105.58 million.

Revenues increased to EGP 292.58 million in January-June 2023 from EGP 110.39 million in the year-ago period.
