Riyadh – Mubasher: Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company (Amak) announced that its CEO, Yahiya bin Mohammed Al Shangiti, will step down from his position on 31 December 2023 due to the expiration of his employment contract.
The company will delegate Christopher Gerard Warwick as its Acting CEO, effective from 1 January 2024, according to a bourse disclosure.
Warwick is a mining engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, covering various aspects of operations in open-pit and underground mines. He has worked in several countries, including Mexico and Zambia, and holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from CSM in the UK.
The new delegate is also a registered professional engineer at the Royal Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (IMMM) in the UK.
Warwick joined Amak as the Operations Director in 2023 and previously served as the Regional Manager for Pan American Silver in Mexico for 15 years.
It is worth noting that in the first nine months (9M) of 2023, Amak's net profits reached SAR 48.64 million, while its revenues amounted to SAR 373.14 million.
