Riyadh – Mubasher: Schneider Electric, the global leader in digital transformation and energy management and energy efficiency, signed an agreement with King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) to build its multi-faceted manufacturing facility on an area of 20,000 square metres.

The establishment will be located within SPARK between Dammam and Al Ahsa, manufacturing major systems such as Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), and Compressor Control System (CCS) to support the energy value chain in Saudi Arabia, according to a press release.

The construction of the new Schneider Electric high-tech facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It will also be awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification because of using sustainable practices implemented throughout the construction phase.

President and CEO of SPARK, Saif Al Qahtani, said: “We are pleased to celebrate Schneider Electric's strategic choice of SPARK as the home for their new, state-of-the-art facility.”

The agreement is forecast to leverage Schneider Electric’s industry expertise, aiming to ensure the reliable and optimal functioning of industrial processes while focusing on security and efficiency through the facility’s operations.

Al Qahtani added: “This collaboration underscores our dedication to fostering local product and service development while simultaneously offering a platform equipped with top-tier infrastructure and services that accelerate our customers' enterprises and deliver sustainable value to our communities.”

The CEO concluded: “As we move forward, we remain committed in our vision to providing a world-class ecosystem for international and local companies.”

Meanwhile, the new facility will support the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia and promotes its overall growth, which comes in line with Vision 2030 as well as the goal of becoming a global leader in sustainable technology-driven exports.

From his side, Mohammed Shaheen, Cluster President of Schneider Electric, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Bahrain, said: “This strategic partnership with King Salman Energy Park, not only affirms Schneider Electric's commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia's energy landscape but also highlights our dedication to strengthening localisation of services in the sector.”

Shaheen added: “Through our industry expertise, we will support SPARK’s vision and create a world-class ecosystem that fosters sustainable value for communities and accelerates the growth of enterprises. We look forward to a successful collaboration that embodies innovation and excellence in the energy sector.”

In 2023, the Logistics Zone of SPARK was announced to become operational in 2024 to serve as a gateway for the energy sector across the region in addition to boosting SPARK’s strategic location in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

In November 2023, Schneider Electric revealed the takeover of a licence from the Saudi Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Commerce to establish its Regional Headquarters in the Kingdom, which will oversee operations in Bahrain, Yemen, and Pakistan for Schneider Electric’s regional business.
