Mubadala Capital seeks more global expansion with South Korea’s Woori Venture Partners

UAE – Mubasher: Mubadala Capital, the wholly-owned asset management subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Woori Venture Partners, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Woori Financial Group, to establish a strategic partnership.

Under the MOU, Mubadala Capital’s Solutions platform and Woori Venture Partners will explore mutually beneficial global investment opportunities in various sectors, according to a press release.

The two companies will also work on establishing a dedicated working committee to facilitate cooperation and dialogue between both organizations.

Hani Barhoush, CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala Capital, said: “We are excited to sign this MOU with Woori Venture Partners and we look forward to working with them to unlock investment opportunities in key markets around the world.”

“Long-term partnerships are fundamental to how we operate, and we are keen to explore the synergies that exist between our two companies,” Barhoush added.

Chang Kyu Kim, CEO of Woori Venture Partners, expressed excitement about the collaboration, underlining the strategic importance of aligning with Mubadala Capital's esteemed global investment network.

He underscored the potential for mutual growth and reaffirmed his dedication to enhancing cooperation among group entities.

In 2022, Mubadala Capital launched the Solutions platform, which consists of three fully integrated businesses, with a $2.7 billion portfolio from the company’s balance sheet.

The company launched Mubadala Capital Solutions in September 2023 in collaboration with Apollo.

In the context of global expansion, Mubadala Capital concluded its second flagship investment fund in Brazil, with total commitments exceeding $710 million in October 2023.
