Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi industrial hub King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) has appointed Nasir Al Naimi as its new Chairman to support Saudi Arabia’s endeavours to become a global hub for trade, transport, and logistics solutions and services.

Al Naimi succeeded Mohammed Al Qahtani who served as SPARK Chairman for the past five years, according to a press release.

The new Chairman, who has experience in the energy and logistics sectors, will oversee the SPARK board’s activities while leveraging his expertise in upstream oil and gas to guide the Saudi hub as it embarks upon the next phase of its development.

Al Naimi is currently the Upstream President at the listed Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) and the previous Chairman of Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Company.

Chairman of SPARK, Nasir Al Naimi, said: “It is a privilege to be appointed as Chairman of SPARK. I look forward to this opportunity to further build on the momentum that SPARK has been able to create since its inauguration in 2018. I hope to bring my expertise and understanding of nuanced dynamics within the energy sector to complement and strengthen SPARK’s ability to connect the world to opportunities in the sector within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Al Naimi also held board positions at Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company Limited, the Arabian Drilling Company, and Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, as well as the Saudi Aramco Technology Company.

SPARK unveiled in 2023 its Logistics Zone which is under the operation and maintenance of SPARK Logistics, a joint venture (JV) between SPARK and global ports operator Hutchison Ports.
