Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has granted over $129 billion in aid to 169 countries across the globe since 1996, the Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) Abdullah Al Rabeeah said, according to the Saudi Gazette.

KSrelief has carried out 2,925 humanitarian projects valued at $6.80 billion in 99 nations covering food, health, shelter, water and other vital needs, in collaboration with 180 partners from international, regional, and local organisations, Al Rabeeah noted.

Al Rabeeah added that KSrelief is working on removing unexploded ordnance as part of humanitarian work, in order to improve the environment, protect civilians, and preserve public health.

Highlighting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's $2.50 billion Middle East Green Initiative, Al Rabeeah said its goal is to lead the kingdom and the region in addressing land and environmental challenges.

Al Rabeeah’s statements came on the sidelines of the third annual International Conference on Mine Action, which is held Azerbaijan between 30 and 31 May 2024.
