UAE – Mubasher: Kamil Al Awadhi, Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), stated that passenger traffic in the UAE and the GCC is projected to grow by 4% annually between 2024 and 2030.

This positive outlook is attributed to the region's long-term vision and infrastructure projects, as highlighted by Al Awadhi during the 80th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

To further support his optimistic view, Al Awadhi pointed out the expansion of the new Al Maktoum Airport, the plan to open a new airport in Kuwait within a year, and the upcoming projects in Saudi Arabia.

The 80th IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit are currently taking place in Dubai from 2 to 4 June 2024, with Emirates Airline hosting the event.
