Cairo – Mubasher: The net international reserves (NIR) at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) reached a historic high of $46.12 billion at the end of May 2024.

This marks an increase of approximately $5.06 billion from $41.05 billion at the end of April 2024, according to CBE’s data.

These recent figures represent the highest ever, surpassing the previous record high of $45.51 billion set in February 2020.

It is also worth noting that Egypt's foreign asset deficit shrank to EGP 174.38 billion ($3.70 billion) in April 2024, setting a new record low after reaching a 25-year low in March.
