CBE auctions EGP 54bn debt instruments on Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 50 billion through two offerings on Thursday, 13 June.

The first auctions stood at EGP 30 billion and will mature in 91 days on 17 September 2024, according to official data.

Holding a 273-day tenor until 18 March 2025, the second tranche was valued at EGP 20 billion.

The CBE also unveiled zero-coupon treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 4 billion through one issue, which carries a 532-day maturity period until 2 December next year.

On 12 June, the central bank offered T-bills and T-bonds at a total value of EGP 48 billion over three tranches.
