Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced that it will sponsor and participate in the International District Energy Association (IDEA) 2024 Annual Conference in Orlando.

Taking place from 17 to 20 June, the event is considered the world's largest gathering for the district cooling sector with hundreds of delegations from over 30 countries, according to a press release.

Empower's delegation, led by CEO Ahmad bin Shafar, will highlight the company's expertise and success in Dubai's district cooling network.

Discussions at the conference will centre around creating more efficient, flexible and low-carbon cooling systems.

Attendees will also explore the role of district cooling in sustainable infrastructure and ways to improve services in smart cities.

Policy talks are scheduled on regulations supporting sector growth, as well as the latest technologies leveraging renewable energy.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said, “Dubai will be one of the focus of this year's edition, where the city's experience in sustainable solutions that adopted two decades ago and its track record in addressing climate change and expanding the use of environmentally friendly district cooling will be showcased.”

It is worth noting that Empower’s net profit went down to AED 165.50 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024 from AED 167.35 million in Q1-23.
