Mubasher: National Mobile Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) teamed up with NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) to become a leading digital infrastructure provider in the MENA region.

Ooredoo will leverage NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform to help enable the AI revolution in the region, according to a press release.

The ADX-listed group will also develop an AI-ready platform powered by NVIDIA’s full-stack innovation across systems, software, and services.

This platform will back governments and empower enterprises and startups to securely process their private datasets, as well as produce valuable insights as tokens that power innovations for its users.

“Working with NVIDIA, we aim to meet the significantly growing demand for accelerated computing infrastructure to support advanced AI models,” Fakhroo added.

The partnership will enable governments, enterprises, and startups in Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, and the Maldives to access NVIDIA's latest full-stack AI platform.

Meanwhile, Ooredoo aims to deploy thousands of NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs in its AI data centres to anchor the region and drive operational efficiencies across industries.

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom, NVIDIA, commented: “By providing NVIDIA’s full-stack AI computing platform to customers, Ooredoo will help make it easier for their customers to deploy generative AI applications and services.”

Through collaboration with NVIDIA, the countries where Ooredoo operates can establish local clouds, facilitating the development of local AI ecosystems and reinforcing data security measures.

The initiative is expected to drive economic growth and secure job opportunities across the region by empowering customers with an advanced AI cloud platform.

In May, the group named Sunita Bottse as the CEO of Mena Digital Hub, Ooredoo’s carrier-neutral data centre company.
