Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 55 billion through two auctions on Sunday, 28 July 2024.
The first tranche was valued at EGP 30 billion, carrying a maturity period of 182 days until 28 January 2025, according to official data.
With a tenor of 364 days until 29 July next year, the second offering stood at EGP 25 billion.
Additionally, the CBE auctioned treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 5 billion, which will mature in three years on 2 July 2027.
The central bank suspended operations on Thursday, 25 July, on the occasion of the 23 July Revolution.
A week ago, the financial regulatory issued T-bills at an aggregated value of EGP 65 billion through two offerings.
