Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunications Group Company (e&) unveiled that its shareholding in the multinational global entity Vodafone Group plc has reached 17.0050%, according to a bourse disclosure.

e& noted that the updated shareholding is a result of Vodafone carrying out its share buyback program, which reduces its total share capital.

Therefore, the total number of shares held by the UAE telecom operator e& remains the same at 3.94 billion shares.

In the past, e& increased its equity ownership in Vodafone to 12%, indicating that the transaction was in line with its objective to foster its exposure to global markets and back possible commercial partnerships, besides achieving future investment returns.

In 2022, the UAE telecom firm had acquired a 9.8% shareholding in the issued share capital of Vodafone for $4.40 billion.

It is worth noting that e&’s latest financial performance for 2025 indicated profitability of AED 14.36 billion.
