Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) changed its new corporate identity and officially rebranded as Saudi Energy Company (SE) to enhance energy supply security and grid reliability in line with the objectives of Vision 2030

The move follows the shareholders’ approval at the company’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on 25 February 2026, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the rebranding reflects the company’s expanding strategic role in Saudi Arabia’s energy sector and reinforces its position as a key national energy enabler.

Khalid Al Ghamdi, the CEO of SE, said the transformation builds on financial, regulatory, and structural reforms carried out in the electricity sector since 2020 under the Ministerial Committee for the Restructuring of the Electricity Sector.

“We are building on a strong legacy in the electricity sector and moving forward with an identity that reflects our readiness for a more integrated phase,” the CEO added.

In January, SE inked a SAR 5.33 billion energy conversion agreement (ECA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) to purchase electricity generated from the Rabigh 1 expansion power plant.
