Riyadh - Mubasher: Expo 2030 Riyadh hosted a strategic site tour and executive progress review attended by senior leaders from major delivery partners as construction activity continues to accelerate ahead of the global event.
The tour was led by Expo 2030 Riyadh CEO Talal Al Marri and Chief Delivery Officer Murad Al Sayed. Discussions focused on evaluating progress across key infrastructure and civil works packages currently under development at the site.
Key topics included enabling works, utilities infrastructure, site logistics, internal road networks, and civil development packages that will support the next phase of the project.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of coordination among various work streams to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of a project of this scale and complexity.
In addition, the gathering highlighted Expo 2030 Riyadh’s focus on operational excellence, safety standards, and disciplined project delivery.
Participating contractors have collectively achieved more than 1.5 million safe working hours, reflecting a strong commitment to workforce safety across the site.
For his part, Al Sayed affirmed that Expo 2030 Riyadh is a strategic national milestone that embodies the Kingdom’s ambitious journey to deliver an unprecedented edition of the World Expo.
He noted that significant progress has been achieved across the Expo 2030 Riyadh site, including the completion of approximately 6.20 million cubic meters of earthworks and handover of 77% of the development areas for subsequent stages.
The official highlighted: “The permanent 400 MW power connection agreement has been signed, targeting completion by Q1-29 through National Grid, with the required bulk supply point and primary substation plots already handed over to support timely execution.”
Meanwhile, the project is expected to welcome 42 million visits and participation from 197 countries between October 2030 and March 2031.
