Riyadh — Mubasher: The Capital Market Authority (CMA) announced that Merak Capital has fulfilled the necessary requirements to commence its licensed activities of investment management and operating funds.
This operational clearance follows the regulatory approval granted to Merak Capital on 3 May 2026.
The company is now authorized to conduct these securities business functions under the Kingdom’s Capital Market Law and its executive regulations.
The transition from receiving a license to the formal commencement of business involves a rigorous verification process.
Meanwhile, the CMA confirmed that Merak Capital has successfully fulfilled the commencement of business requirements, a phase that typically involves the establishment of internal controls, the appointment of qualified personnel, and the implementation of technical infrastructure necessary to safeguard investor interests.
Under the scope of this license, Merak Capital is empowered to engage in two primary activities within the securities sector.
The first, Managing Investments, permits the firm to oversee and make decisions regarding discretionary investment portfolios on behalf of clients. This involves the strategic allocation of assets to meet specific financial objectives while managing risk exposure in accordance with regulatory mandates.
The second activity, Operating Funds, authorizes the firm to establish, manage, and administer investment funds. This role is critical for the development of collective investment schemes, providing institutional and individual investors with access to professionally managed pools of capital.
By operating these funds, Merak Capital will contribute to the depth and liquidity of the Saudi capital market, aligning with broader national efforts to diversify the financial sector.
