Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) reported a 548.31% surge in net profit for the first half (H1) of 2026, reaching SAR 71.04 million compared to SAR 10.96 million in H1-25.

The company attributed the performance to increased transport operating rates and higher activity revenues. Earnings per share (EPS) for H1-26 rose to SAR 0.57, up from SAR 0.09 in the prior year.

Total shareholders' equity stood at SAR 1.05 billion at the end of the period.

For the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, the transport provider earned a net profit of SAR 65.70 million, an increase of 86.26% from the SAR 35.27 million recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Quarterly revenues remained stable at SAR 502.70 million, compared to SAR 503.10 million a year earlier, representing a marginal change of 0.08%.

On a sequential basis, net profit hiked by 1,129 % from the SAR 5.35 million reported in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, bolstered by Hajj season revenues and lower administrative expenses.

The company’s accumulated losses decreased to SAR 202.09 million as of 30 June 2026, representing 16.17% of its SAR 1.25 billion capital. This is an improvement from the 21.40% level recorded in March 2026.
