Riyadh – Mubasher: Almasane Alkobra Mining Company (AMAK) announced the resignation of non-executive member Majed Ali bin Muslim, effective 10 August 2026.
The company stated the resignation was submitted to enhance corporate governance practices and effectiveness. Bin Muslim had served on the board since 9 January 2025.
In a meeting held on 10 August 2026, the board appointed Anwar bin Ali bin Mohsen Al Farsani as an independent director, effective 11 August.
Al Farsani will complete the remaining term of his predecessor, which concludes at the end of the current board cycle on 8 January 2029.
He is a mining and mineral exploration expert with over 40 years of professional experience. He holds a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Earth Sciences at King Abdulaziz University, obtained in 1980.
His career includes extensive work in geological exploration, mineral resource development, and the evaluation of technical and economic feasibility studies for mining projects. The appointment remains subject to approval by the company’s General Assembly at its next meeting.
AMAK approved the consensual termination of the contractual relationship with CEO Geoffrey Macdonald Day.
