Riyadh — Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Refineries Company (SARCO) announced that its board of directors approved the resignation of Audit Committee Chairman Abdulaziz bin Abdulmohsen Al Bakr on 12 August 2026.

Al Bakr, who had served on the committee since 2 January 2025, stepped down effective 12 August 2026.

The resigned official attributed his decision to an increase in professional commitments and responsibilities, according to a bourse filing.

Following the resignation, the board approved the immediate reconstitution of the audit committee. Adel Mamdouh Jaafar has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Audit Committee, serving as a member from outside the board.

The committee also includes two independent board members, namely Khalid Mohammed Al Hanaki and Naer Samir Fayez.

The board of directors expressed its appreciation to Al Bakr for his contributions and efforts during his tenure as Audit Committee Chairman.

Meanwhile, the decision to restructure the committee was finalized via a board resolution circulated on 12 August to ensure the continuity of the company's internal oversight and governance functions.
