Saudi CMA publishes clarifications for commodities, metals market licensing
CMA

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Capital Market Authority (CMA) published a detailed list of inquiries and responses regarding the licensing process for commodities and metals market operations in Saudi Arabia.

This release follows the regulator’s previous announcement on 1 July 2026, which marked the commencement of the application window for entities interested in establishing infrastructure for these markets.

The document, prepared by the CMA’s Market Infrastructure Institutions Supervision Department, aims to standardize knowledge and provide technical clarity for potential market operators.

By addressing the most prominent questions received during the initial consultation phase, the regulator intends to streamline the entry of new participants into the Saudi financial ecosystem.

The CMA emphasized that while the FAQ serves as a practical guide, applicants must strictly adhere to the Capital Market Law and its executive regulations for all legal and regulatory requirements.

This initiative is part of a broader strategic effort to diversify the Kingdom’s financial sector by formalizing the trading of commodities and metals through regulated exchange platforms.

Interested parties can access the full guidance document via the authority’s official electronic portal.
