Riyadh – Mubasher: The Riyadh Development Authority (RDA) on Thursday announced that eight major companies and banks won a tender for naming rights of a number of Riyadh Metro stations, CEO Tariq Bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris said.

The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has won the naming rights of the main station, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has been awarded the station adjacent to Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, according to an official statement.

Bank Albilad won the naming rights of the third station, while the fourth one was awarded to the Saudi British Bank (SABB).

The statement further noted that Alinma Bank will name the fifth one.

On a related note, Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group won the tender of naming another station, while Granada Investment Center Organization will name the seventh station.

City Centre Ishbiliyah, which is owned by Majid Al Futtaim, won the tender of naming the eighth one.

Al-Faris expected that the financial return of the eight stations’ naming rights will amount to SAR 1.045 billion.

The metro is planned to accommodate more than one million passengers a day in its opening phase and 365 million per year in the future.
