Mubasher: UK industrial production growth rose 0.3% in the three months ended October, compared with the three months ended July, whereas output dipped month-on-month, data released on Friday showed.

While total manufacturing output remained flat between August and October, production of metals and transport equipment rose 1.7% and 1.2% respectively, partially offset by a drop of 2.8% in pharmaceutical products.

Total production output decline 0.6% last October, compared with September, as manufacturing fell 0.9%, whereas mining and quarrying increased 1.8%.

Falling manufacturing production during the month came on the back of drops of 3.2% and 5% in transport equipment and pharmaceuticals, respectively.

By 10:08 am GMT, the GBP/USD pair went down 0.06% to $1.2719, while the EUR/GBP pair rose 0.31% to GBP 0.8972.
