Dubai – Mubasher: Emaar Properties on Tuesday announced that it has started business development operations in China.

The step comes within a bid to promote the emirate of Dubai as an investment destination and boost tourism from Asia’s largest economy, according to the company’s statement.

The real estate developer has begun the design and fit-out of two offices in Beijing and Shanghai, staffed by a team specially recruited from China.

Both showrooms will be used to display the UAE as an investment destination with a special focus on property, educational opportunities and healthcare projects.

Moreover, Dubai's biggest listed developer is looking to work with the UAE’s embassy in China to promote the GCC nation-China ties and foster trade relations and tourism.

The company also plans to open Address branded hotels in key cities in the Asian country.

Emaar's projects in China come along with the “Belt and Road Initiative” announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

It is worth noting that China is also the UAE’s largest non-oil trade partner, as their bilateral trade increased by 15% to $53 billion in 2017.
