Mubasher: Gold settles lower on Tuesday, as investors anticipate the upcoming US state of the union address.

Comex April gold declined $0.1 to close at $1,319.2 per ounce.  

The USD dollar index (DXY), which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, rose 0.2%.
