Mubasher: The euro (EUR) fell against the US dollar, hitting the lowest level seen this year, as the greenback strengthened on improving risk-taking appetite.

The single currency declined 0.4% against the US dollar to $1.1275. By 3:55 pm GMT, the EUR/USD pair fell 0.42% to $1.1276.

The latest round of trade negotiation between the US and China, world’s two largest economies, started in Beijing, as positive headlines fanned the improvement in risk sentiment. Chinese officials voiced optimism in trade talks.

In addition, US legislators are set to avoid another government shutdown.
