Mubasher: Qatar's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has launched the national authentication system,Tawtheeq, which provides multiple methods for unified access to government electronic services.
The new system will work on managing and governing the digital identity of persons and businesses that use websites and online applications to access government e-services, MOTC said in a statement on Sunday.
Both digital service providers and users will be offered several advantages including user online-registration, user verification, unified access using the same username and password to all government e-services, and multilayered verification.
These services can be accessed using a username and password with multi-factor authentication or a smart ID card.
The new system also provides digital-signature service which allows users to sign their government transactions.
The national authentication system “will offer faster user access to all government services and boost user information security in line with the Qatar digital government 2020 strategy,” Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti said.
