Mubasher: The process of approving construction projects will take shorter time in China by the middle of this year, according to the housing ministry.
The time for granting approvals, which can reach for more than 1,000 days in some regions of China, would be slashed to within 120 days, the ministry said.
Within the framework of reforms, the housing ministry introduced a reduced approval window in 15 cities and the eastern province of Zhejiang in May 2018, shortening approval time to 120 days from an average of 200 days, Vice Minister Huang Yan said.
The plan, which was approved by the State Council and set to be announced soon, came in line with the government’s push to ramp up infrastructure spending this year.
It is also consistent with the plan to bring about a construction boom, as part of the efforts to support domestic demand and a slowing economic growth.
