Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation slashed to 8.9% in March, versus 9.2% in February, data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed on Wednesday.
The state's consumer price index (CPI) recorded 0.5% last month, compared to 1% in February, the CBE added in a statement.
Earlier this day, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) posted that the consumer price index (CPI) in Egypt edged up 0.9% month-on-month in March, recording 307 points.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast Egypt’s annual inflation rate to reach 14.5% in 2019 and to ease to 12.3% in 2020.
