EGX’s indices end higher Thursday as investors await CBE take on interest
Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.7 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices rose at the end of Thursday’s session, as investors anticipating the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) decision on interest rates.

The benchmark index, EGX30, grew by 0.4% to 13,824 points, while the EGX70 index increased by 0.49% to 535.82 points and the EGX100 index added 0.55% to settle at 1,390 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.7 billion to reach EGP 701.7 billion.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up by 1.18% to EGP 85, after generating a turnover of EGP 201 million.

The EGX’s trading volume reached 109.9 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to EGP 638.07 million.

SHUAA Securities Egypt said that the CBE might opt for keeping interest rates unchanged today.
