Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday’s trading on a negative note, for the third session in a row.

The main index dropped by 3.71% or 283.24 points to 7,345.10 points, hitting its lowest level since October 2018.

During today’s session, trading volume recorded 184.108 million shares, up from 179.73 million shares on Thursday 26 February, while turnover declined to SAR 4.60 billion from SAR 4.77 billion.

The materials segment topped the losing sectors with 5.29%, followed by banks 3.56%, telecom services with 2.98%, and energy with 2.07%.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) headed 190 decliners with 9.99%, while the Allied Cooperative Insurance Group (ACIG) came on top of four rising stocks and gained 5.50%.

Al Rajhi Bank posted the highest turnover of around SAR 612.717 million, while Alinma Bank was the most actively traded stock with nearly 18 million shares.

Market experts expect GCC stock markets to maintain the downward trend among concerns about the coronavirus outbreak, and falling global oil prices.
