DFM closes trading hall to contain coronavirus
DFM has closed its trading hall

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has temporarily closed its trading floor and customer affairs counter, starting from Monday and until further notice, as part of precautionary measures to contain the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The closure will halt the trading activity, since investors can have access to the bourse’s smart service applications and online platforms, allowing licensed brokerage firms to carry out their activities, the COO and head of operations division at DFM, Hassan Al Serkal, confirmed in a statement on Monday.

Al Serkal added that “as long as this temporary closure is implemented, only employees of brokerage firms with offices located at the Trading Floor can access the premises.”

Yesterday, a similar move was announced by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) in line with measures across the UAE to contain the spread of the new virus.
