About 300K people in KSA vaccinated against Covid-19 - health official
The kingdom approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for use last December.

Riyadh – Mubasher: Around 300,000 people in Saudi Arabia have received the Covid-19 vaccine, state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported citing the health ministry spokesperson, Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly.  

Al-Aly said that citizens and residents who have a valid national identity number or residence number are eligible to take the vaccine through the Sehaty application, noting that no side effects of the vaccine have been detected so far.

On Sunday, the kingdom reported 176 new coronavirus infections, taking the tally to 364,929 cases. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries rose by 146 to stand at 356,687, whilst fatalities grew by five to reach 6,323.

On 10 December 2020, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine in the kingdom. The Gulf country started the coronavirus vaccination programme a week later.
