Cairo - Mubasher: The Financial Regulatory Authority's (FRA) Chairman, Mohamed Omran, expects the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) to witness two initial public offerings (IPOs) before the end of 2021.

On the sidelines of a press conference on Tuesday, Omran noted that the bourse will likely witness some governmental IPOs during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021. 

He revealed that a payment company is currently in talks with the FRA to float its shares on the EGX.

Earlier, the EGX's Chairman, Mohamed Farid, said that two new companies have been listed this year, expecting a third offering before the end of 2021.

He added that IPOs are expected during the second half (H2) of the year, with four to five private sector companies recently discussing listing on EGX.
