CBE issues two-type T-bonds at EGP 8.75bn on Monday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at an aggregated value of EGP 1.25 billion through two issues on Monday, 8 August.

The first offering stood at EGP 1 billion, carrying a five-year maturity period until 12 July 2027, according to official data. The second tranche was valued at EGP 250 million, holding a tenor of 10 years until 9 August 2032.

Furthermore, the CBE auctioned zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 7.50 billion through one issue, which will mature in 1.5 years on 30 January 2024.

Last week, the central bank issued T-bonds at a combined value of EGP 4.50 billion through two offerings and zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 7 billion through one tranche.
