CBE issues two-type T-bonds at EGP 12.75bn on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at an aggregated value of EGP 12.75 billion through three issues on Monday, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to finance the budget deficit.

The first offering stood at EGP 250 million, carrying a seven-year maturity period until 7 May 2029, official data showed.

The second tranche was valued at EGP 7 billion, holding a tenor of three years until 6 December 2025.

Moreover, the CBE auctioned zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 5.50 billion through one issue, maturing in 1.5 years on 4 June 2024.

On 4 December, the CBE issued T-bills worth EGP 27.50 billion through two offerings.
