CBE offers EGP 36bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 35 billion through two issues on Monday, 2 January.

The first offering was valued at EGP 13.50 billion and will mature in 91 days on 4 April 2023, according to official data.

Holding a tenor of 273 days until 3 October this year, the second tranche stood at EGP 21.50 billion.

Additionally, the CBE offered zero-coupon treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 1 billion through one tranche, carrying a 1.5-year maturity period until 2 July 2024.

On 29 December 2022, the central bank issued T-bills worth EGP 43.50 billion through two auctions.
