Riyadh – Mubasher: Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has co-signed a $150 million financing agreement for the construction of Rogun hydroelectric power station in Tajikistan.

Investing in the Tajik project reflects IsDB’s commitment towards supporting sustainable energy solutions and regional development, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In April 2024, the Tajik government secured $550 million in financing from IsDB and several Arab institutions for the Rogun project.

The government of Tajikistan announced that the project requires $6.20 in funding to be completed. The Rogun Dam will be the tallest in the world, ensuring the country’s energy security.
