Riyadh – Mubasher: Cairo-based virtual reality content and production studio 5dVR has partnered with AstroLabs to expand into Saudi Arabia.

With over 100 global VR projects under its belt and strategic collaborations, 5dVR aims to help more industries digitally transform through augmented reality (AR), mixed reality, and virtual reality (VR) technologies with localised solutions, according to a press release.

5dVR plans to partner with Saudi educational institutions to develop curriculum-focused immersive content, targeting healthcare, corporate training, and heritage sectors.

KSA's AR/VR market is primed for growth and innovation as technologies spread across retail, healthcare, education, tourism, and entertainment.

The sector’s revenues are projected to hit $107.60 million 2024 and $168.80 million by 2029, reflecting Vision 2030 goals and increasing demand for 5dVR's services.

Beyond commercial activities, 5dVR expressed commitment to nurturing the emerging XR ecosystem through strategic initiatives and educational partnerships to empower Saudi youth with immersive tech training programmes.

Maged Farrag, Creative and Managing Director of 5dVR, said: “We are excited to bring 5dVR's groundbreaking immersive experiences to Saudi Arabia. Our expansion into the Kingdom underscores our commitment to leveraging technology to connect people with culture, education and entertainment in unprecedented ways.”

Alex Nicholls, director of expansion at AstroLabs, commented: “Backed by a strong and experienced founding team and an innovative product, 5dVR is bound to usher in a new era for customer engagements and blaze the trail for more innovation in the business sector.”

Founded in 2016, 5dVR tailor solutions to meet the specific needs of clients across various industries. With a global reach, 5dVR has launched over 100 immersive projects worldwide.

5dVR has entered into strategic partnerships with leading companies from around the world, including Austella (UK), Khora (Denmark), and Smart Media Tokens (US).

Earlier in July, Customer support solution provider MyAlice launched its first headquarters in Riyadh in cooperation with AstroLabs.
