CBE offers EGP 35bn debt instruments on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has issued treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 31 billion through two tranches on Sunday, 3 July.

The first offering was valued at EGP 15 billion, carrying a 182-day maturity period until 3 January next year, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second tranche stood at EGP 16 billion, holding a tenor of 364 days until 4 July 2023.

In addition, the central bank offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 4 billion through one auction, which will mature in three years on 5 July 2025.

Last week, the CBE auctioned T-bills worth EGP 24 billion through two issues.
